Dr Rajendra Prasad Agricultural University (RPCAU) was established in 1970 at Pusa in Samastipur district, Bihar. It has become an important landmark in agricultural research and education. Pusa University provides scholarships to the students with the aid of Govt. of Bihar. The scholarship details for the students are mentioned below.

• Govt. of Bihar provides stipend of INR 2000 per month with an additional contingency of INR 6000 per year to purchase the study materials to the students admitted in B.Sc. Agriculture and B.F.Sc. (Fisheries).
• University provides merit scholarships of INR 500 for general category and INR 400 for both reserved and unreserved category of the state.

The college offers various courses on UG, PG, and Ph.D. levels. Admission to all the degree programs shall be made through the Competitive Entrance Examination conducted by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). The reservation policy is as per Central Government rules. There are five faculties in the university in the disciplines of Agriculture, Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Agricultural Engineering, Basic Sciences, Humanities & Home Science, besides the college of agriculture, fisheries, and institute of dairy technology. Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University offers six undergraduate degree programs, thirty-three postgraduate programs, and eighteen Ph.D. programs. It is also the only university to provide an MBA in Agribusiness program. Admission in the various courses offered is done on the basis of marks scored in the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE).
